Fats from Fish, nuts, seeds and avocados are a healthier source of monounsaturated fats. You can also go lighter on the saturated fats which are present in meats. Try to avoid Tran’s fats as much as possible they are generally found in processed foods and fried foods. Dairy has saturated fat in it, but I don’t tell people to avoid milk fat. I recommend being moderate with animal-based fats such as ghee.

Having diabetes does not mean you have to have a sugar-free diet. People with diabetes should follow a healthy balanced diet – that is low in fat, salt and sugar. You should still be able to enjoy a wide variety of foods, including some with sugar. But yes the portion of sugar content in overall diet should less.
